03/03/2010: Strong European governance and support for SMEs for a successful 2020 Strategy
 "We need a strong and transparent governance structure that respects the subsidiarity principle. The Lisbon Strategy was not successful due to weak governance structure and lack of accountability of the Member States. This should not happen again", commented the Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, Joseph Daul MEP, on today's presentation of the Europe 2020 Strategy Paper by the European Commission.

03/03/2010: Iran: EPP Group demands the release of Iranian film director Jafar Panahi
On learning of the arrest of Iranian film director Jafar Panahi, who supported the reformist movement following the contested presidential elections in June last year, the Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, Joseph Daul MEP, appealed for his immediate release.
